If it's your first safari with
us - let us assure you that our style is to create a relaxed and casual way
for you to see the island.
There
is a phrase used in the travel industry which describes it well, no news,
no shoes. Come with a pair of shorts and
a t-shirt and youll fit in well - bring your trunks or bikini, sun lotion
and towel for our swim stops...
Food is a relaxed affair too. Lunch is our Olive Pickers Picnic, which is
based on the food which would have been packed up and taken by the locals during their olive picking season.
We use fresh local produce of feta cheese,
bread, tomatoes, olives, seasonal fruit and of course not forgetting the ouzo! It's
nice and simply served with a backdrop of the western coastline of Appollakia Bay under the shade of our
'unique' Castaway Beach Bar - where you can relax and chat with your fellow travellers.
There is plenty of time given for day dreaming, which we actively
encourage!!!
What to leave behind:
There are some things we hope youll forget. We hope youll forget to
bring your worries, your problems and your work. All of this is to be left
behind. If, for any reason you should arrive with it, we will ask you to pack
it up in a cardboard box and leave it on the roadside before stepping aboard as
there is not room for you and all of this on the Land Rover. If you still want it
when you come to leave, you are of course quite welcome to pick it back
up!
What to bring:
Casual, comfy clothes - Tee shirts, shorts etc
Bathing suits and towel ...there will be opportunities to swim (of course - weather
permitting!)
Sunglasses (You don't want to miss the scenery through the suns glare)
Beach and /or walking sandals. (Not lots of walking - but heels will
be a problem!)
Sun lotion ... If you are the light-skin type, get SPF 25
or higher.
Camera or video camera - sights are amazing!
Cash - (hard to find ATMS' around the island) - and there will be
opportunities to buy souvenirs - should you wish.
Any medication you may need.
Bottled Water - (we always carry a supply of fresh,
local water).
Remember though: Please travel light - as there will be limited space
on board.
